Our history

Gasthof Schwarz – a family business with a history. Many years have passed since the house was first mentioned. Our inn has already seen and experienced major and minor changes. But one thing has always remained unchanged: our desire to make you happy as our guest and to ensure that you have a wonderful time with us.

History

2023
We value quality

But one thing has not changed over the years: Then as now, we stand for down-to-earth regional and seasonal cuisine, for which we only use the best products, and an extra portion of hospitality in our hotel.

Come and see for yourself! We look forward to your visit!

2020
Takeover

In 2020, their daughter Sandra took over the inn. Since then, she and her team of 35 employees have put their hearts and souls into making our guests feel at home.

1979
New generation

From 1979 to 2019, Konrad, master chef, and his wife Hermine, tax clerk, managed the traditional establishment. Konrad and Hermine Schwarz can look back on 40 years at Gasthof Schwarz, during which they not only managed the business and catered to guests, but also carried out many renovations and extensions to the inn. These include the renovation of the guest rooms and hall, the refurbishment and extension of guest rooms, the construction of the beer garden, the construction of our winter garden and the renovation of the foyer.

1950
Family business

The former “Hohewarter Gastwirtschaft” was first mentioned in documents in 1927 in connection with the Schwarz family name. From 1950, Johann and Veronika Schwarz ran the inn. They set the course for the future, among other things with the in-house butcher’s shop, which still stands for high-quality meat and homemade sausage products such as our Leberkäse.

1927
Our tradition

Hospitality, good food and drink have been a tradition in the Schwarz family since 1927.
The name has been associated with the Hohenwarter restaurant ever since.
